ALBA Line 5 Expansion Project

Combined Cycle Power Station PS4 E & IC Works Sub-contract received from Alstom (Switzerland) for all Electrical / I & C works for the 700MW Combined Cycle Power Station consisting of 3 Gas Turbines and 2 Steam Turbines. Contract value US$ 6.0 million.

E&IC installation works comprising:

• 220KV,235MVA Generator Step-up Transformers.
• 410 Meters of 15KV Isolated Phase Bus duct.
• 800 KM of MV, LV, Fiber Optic and Instrument Cables.

Sub-contract received in December 2003 from Solios Carbone, France.

Contract value US$ 2.65 million.

Scope: Installation of free issue items such as LV panels, instruments, pneumatic panels, PLC equipments etc. supply & installation of CCTV systems, 27nos. of distribution boards, 184 nos. of LCS/LCP, 90 nos. of instrument junction box, 7,750 mtrs of cable ladder / trays, 9,750 meters of conduits, 150 KM of power, control, instrumentation & lighting cables, 8500 nos. of terminations, 1225 nos. of light fittings etc.

ALBA Line 5 Expansion Project

11.5KV Temporary Construction Power.

Contract received from International Bechtel Co. for design, supply, install, pre-op testing and startup for the 11.5kV construction power.

Contract value US$ 1.0 Million.

• 3.0 KM of 11.5KV Overhead Transmission Line.

BAPCO In-Line Blending Project:

Sub-contract for engineering, procurement and construction received from main contractor JGC in 1999. Sub-contract value US$ 1.7 million. Project completion in July 2000.

Scope included complete detailed engineering for field and control room installation, procurement of bulk materials, calibration & commissioning assistance to JGC for both electrical and instrumentation part. The scope also included all cabling & termination as well as loop checking of all I/O’s for the advanced computer control system.

BAPCO In-Line Blending Project:

Sub-contract for engineering, procurement and construction received from main contractor JGC in 1999.

Sub-contract value US$ 1.7 million.

Project completion in July 2000.

BAPCO Modernisation of Instrumentation and Control of LSFO & FCCU:

EPC contract received in July 2000 by CegelecS.A./France in consortium with Comsip Al A’Ali. Main contract value US$ 31 million, Comsip Al A’Ali share US$ 12 million.

Cegelec scope:Overall project management, procurement, new blast resistant control building.

Comsip Al A’Ali’s scope: Detailed engineering, complete E&I installation, procurement of bulk materials, loop checking & commissioning assistance during “hot cut over”. Removal of old control and redundant field instruments.

Project scheduled for completion in March 2004, well ahead of schedule.

HIDD Power Station Phase I & II :

Sub-contract received in 1998 for Phase I (280MW)from ABB Sadelmi/Italy. Sub-contract value US$ 2.9 million.

Sub-contract received in 2002 for Phase II (630MW)from ALSTOM/Switzerland. Sub-contract value US$ 3.3 million.

Scope: Complete E&I installation comprising 210MVA, 220/15.75KV Generator Transformers, 220KV GIS, 11KV & LV switchboards, SCADA system, DCS panels including LAN network, marshalling panels, loop checking, calibration of instruments, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, intercommunication system.

Phase I construction period Sept. 1998 –Aug. 1999. Phase II construction period Feb. 2002 –Nov. 2003.

Ministry of Electricity & Water (MEW) Upgrading of System Control Centers of both Electricity and Water:

EPC contract received in 1998 by Alstom/France in consortium with Comsip Al A’Ali. Main contract value US$ 26 million + 1.7 million BHD, Comsip Al A’Ali share US$ 4.5 million.

Scope: Complete E&I installation comprising LV switchboards, SCADA system, telecommunication system, UPS, operator consoles, RTU’s, civil work for flow meter chambers, 67km of fiber optic cable laying, splicing & termination.

Construction period June 1998 –Oct. 2001

Ministry of Electricity & Water (MEW) 66 KV Transmission Developments:

Turn-key contract awarded in 2000 for the 66KV substation switchgear to AlstomT&D/France whereas the 66KV substation transformer contract was won by ABB Elektrik Sanayi/Turkey. Comsip Al A’Ali has been awarded the sub-contract for both switchgear and transformer installation work for 12 new substations and modification/addition in 30 nos. existing substations at US$ 2.92 million.

Scope: Installation of 57MVA/30MVA/20MVA transformers, 66KV GIS Bay, 33KV & 11KV switchgear, 220V & 48V battery, charger & distribution boards, SCADA system, telecommunication system, power & control cable laying, jointing & termination, fiber optic cable laying, splicing & termination.

Flour Daniel Intercontinental Inc. Cantonment Area at Sh. Isa Air Base, Phase-2:

Contract was awarded in January 2003 for Supply & Installation Works of Complete Power Distribution System in Cantonment Area of Air Base. The final contract value reached to US$2.25 million.

Scope: Detailed Design, Supply and Installation of HV RMU, Unit Sub-station (with HV Load Interrupter Switches, Oil Filled Transformers, LV Switch Gears), 11KV Cable Laying & Termination, LV Feeder Pillars, LV Cable Laying & Termination, Out Door Lighting.

Contract was awarded in January 2003 and work was completed in August 2003.
